Off to Hockey

My son is in the Provincial Championship's today so it's just a quick blog. One of my favourite blogs is Gruntdoc and he has a guest blogger this week. They were at a lecture and had someone from the NHS talk about the 4 hour mandate wait time. This is the one that we blogged about here for being counterproductive. In a nutshell, the ED's have to leave patients in the ambulances rather than admit them to meet the wait time mandate.

If you're going to use the latest in technology to knock down ER wait times, imposing an unachievable and arbitrary window is not the way to do it. Before anyone gets any bright ideas, I'd take a second look before implementing the same change in North America.
