Grand Rounds is up today from a tropical island in the South Pacific at Mariana's Eye (take that Health 2.0critics). David is a real live opthomologist (eye surgeon) practicing on a tiny island in the South Pacific. His blog is eclectic, to say the least. One minute he's talking about a beach bonfire with his son, the next minute poverty issues in Saipan and then ranting about medical whores at congresses (doctors who offer a lecture in the name of research but are really giving a marketing talk as paid consultants from a company). Give the blog a read (and enjoy the video).
"Health 2.0 is participatory healthcare characterized by the ability to rapidly share, classify and summarize individual health information with the goals of improving health care systems, experiences and outcomes via integration of patients and stakeholders."
DISCLAIMER: Any cases presented or examples given are completely fictitious or are compellations of many situations I’ve been in. They come from my imagination and in no way depict any real patient or person I’ve ever met. All opinions are my own and not the opinion of any of my coworkers or people that I work with. I am not your doctor/surgeon so do not use any information here for your own care. This is just a blog of random thoughts on health care not individual advice.
